The Peony Pink Sleeve from Case-Mate is the perfect companion for your 13″ MacBook. The color is adorable and for $99, you are getting a high-quality sleeve for your notebook. The impact resistant molded shell is made out of italian pebblestone leather, and protects your precious laptop from the elements (dirt, dust, etc).
PC users are SOL because it was made exclusively for Apple notebooks. I actually have this exact notebook and I actually LOVE this exact shade of pink so it’s a win/win situation. (BTW - it is also available in green/black/white for all you boring people).

Now that Halloween has come and gone in the blink of an eye, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. What! Already?! Fall is going by FAR too quickly for my liking. I haven’t had nearly enough time to actually get out and enjoy it.
So for those of you who are chained to your laptops like me, you’ll appreciate this easy way not to miss the holiday spirit. It’s a USB Christmas tree!
Granted you celebrate Christmas, you’ll enjoy this lit-up miniature version of a Christmas tree, without ever having to miss a single e-mail, instant message, or blog post. I’ll tell you what this is. It’s a sick replacement for what was once a delightful icon of my favorite holiday. But now I’m all growns up, and this girls got work to do. Ahh, spreadsheets and holiday nostalgia. [...]

I’ve been reading various things about the Asus EEE. Some blogs and emails talked about its usefulness and some talked about problems it still had. Every gadget has a purpose, perhaps. And users, of course.
Here’s a “demo” of what to expect when you have one. As one email said, it looked like Windows XP. Hmmm. Maybe a bit. The color scheme is reminiscent of Windows XP but the icons are lovelier, I think. And the tabs weren’t on the XP. It has the basic apps needed for working, learning and playing. Probably the student’s budget laptop, especially for those who don’t have to write code or use RAM and harddrive space-consuming apps. It could also be a writer’s tool, just like a handy notebook for jotting down thoughts, as well as talking with people like fans, or editors with whom they ought [...]

I just read on TechDirt that the Get One Give One OLPC program will only be until December 31 and after that it will just be Give One. Some people think it’s Negroponte’s way of expressing his bitterness over Intel’s release of another laptop called Classmate.
Maybe he’s being bitter, maybe he’s not.
Here’s my take on the matter: Negroponte and entire OLPC team as well as everyone who contributed to the project showed that it is possible to make computers that are not so expensive and could be used as educational tools. Sure, they had a very big dream. And now that they seem to be stopping at that they appear to be bitter. I don’t know if they truly are bitter. But it’s a practical move for them. Intel, et al have greater amount of resources in terms of material and people. They [...]
